We were wondering is this still c54r issue for you? At this point, this includes D-Link and Netgear, among others. I removed the Wep key, and it doesn’t work. Also, the card is supposed to be tad slow, probably because of a bottleneck in the current driver.
Atheros-based cards seem to be an ok but partly non-open choice. Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.
